AUTUMNAL CLOSET PURGE
Hello stylish people,
It’s that time of the year, where the light summer clothing is being tucked away for the rest of the year. This is something I religiously do twice to thrice a year, mostly twice. I turn to do it ahead every season, so one is being done against Spring/Summer and then Autumn/Winter. This is just to have a clearer picture of what one has accumulated during the seasons and by doing this you turn to have a closet that particularly caters for the upcoming season, It also makes putting outfits together easier. The other reason why I do this is to know what I have and to avoid buying double things.
In the earlier days when I started purging my wardrobe, I will make 3 piles. One for the things I’m giving away, the other for the ongoing season and lastly the stuff that needs to be recycled.
So this weekend I transferred my coats and autumnal pieces to the closet and then transferred the lighter clothes to the internal wardrobes. The whole process lasted nothing above 60 minutes. Initially, this process would take days which ended up with big bags of unwanted clothing pieces. In 2018, I decided to put a stop to impulsive shopping and buying things just because they’ve been reduced to a certain price. This wasn’t benefiting the environment neither was it benefiting my bank account. (I will explain this further in a separate blog post).
Hope this inspired you to make preps towards the new season, while you took the chance to declutter your closet/wardrobe.
