I have realized how important it is to be mindful about the pieces I bring to my wardrobe and this includes revamping, decluttering, purging, reorganizing and even recycling.

Without making this post longer than it should, let’s get the points rolling on how to freshen up your wardrobe for spring.

Get hangers that match

This trick creates a simultaneous flow and a well-uniformed overlook to your wardrobe. Which turns to be aesthetically pleasing and neat.

Colour sort

Colour sorting helps you find your pieces easily, since you’re only searching through smaller sections. It also gives your wardrode a more apealing and inviting aura, which enhances the zeal to put your pieces together..

Hang everything facing the same direction

You’ll be less irritable when your items are well- organized. Now, we want to be propelled to dress up so this is a step we definitely do not want to ignore.

Purge

Hello Stylish People,

In this post, I highlight 8 out of the many myths and restrictions that have been in existence within the fashion sector. Fashion and style should be a fun and creative way to express oneself, but some hard rules will have to be debunked to make it even more fun. I have realised that these myths are somehow limiting the quality of our styles.

DON’T REPEAT YOUR OUTFITS

Wearing an outfit severally regardless of the number of times you wear them, is what you’re meant to do with the pieces you purchase. The fashion industry is the second cause of pollution in the world so we have to do the due diligence as consumers to limit this. As long as your clothes are clean, flaunt them as many times as you want.

DON’T WEAR BLACK ON BLACK, ITS BAD LUCK

In most parts of the world the colour black is termed as the ultimate colour for mourning. I don’t think there should be any limitations on colours, black is beautiful, crisp and clean. I personally do not find any other colour as elegant as the colour black. Black on black outfits look eloquent and exude so much power when styled properly. On days that I have no zeal to dress up, I aim for black turtleneck top, paired with black trousers and a beautiful black coat or blazer thrown over it, this will wow everyone. People might even think it took you so much time to plan your outfit but in reality it wasn’t.

DENIM ON DENIM IS NOT FASHIONABLE

You can’t wear denim on denim, is the non stylish statement I’ve ever come across. You can wear denim on denim, as long as you choose contrasting washes and styles. Mixing and matching different shades and textures can create a stylish and trendy look. Denim on denim is actually a trend on high demand this season. YOU CAN’T MIX TWO DIFFERENT PRINTS

You should only wear one print at a time, of course you can wear multiple prints at once, as long as they complement each other. Mixing prints can add depth and interest to an outfit, but it’s important to balance the colors and patterns.

DRESSES AND SKIRTS CAN ONLY BE WORN WITH HIGH HEELS

High heels are not the only option for looking stylish. There are many stylish and comfortable flats, sneakers, and sandals that can be just as fashionable.

FOLLOW TRENDS TO BE FASHIONABLE

You should always follow the latest fashion trends is far from being stylish or fashionable. Following every trend is not necessary to be fashionable. It’s important to choose styles that suit your personality, body type, and lifestyle, and to mix and match with different accessories.

BRIGHT COLOURS ARE FOR THE BRIGHTER SEASONS

You should only wear certain colors in certain seasons is a very limiting myth, you can wear any color in any season, as long as you style it appropriately. For example, bright colors can be worn in the winter to add a pop of color to an outfit.

PLUS SIZE WOMEN SHOULDN’T WEAR FORM-FITTING PIECES

Plus-size women can wear any style they want, including form-fitting clothing. It’s all about finding the right fit and styling the outfit to flatter your body type.

Here is my list of the fashion trends for SS23 you should know about. At the beginning of every season, as a fashion and style enthusiast, I love to research the ongoing style trends that are going to be dominating the fashion Industry. With this in mind, I know what to shop for or what to pair up in my wardrobe to get inspired for the new season.

Please, do not hop on these trends without going through what you currently have. Bare in mind that trends will come and go, so be wise enough to shop for timeless pieces instead. The aftermath of this might end you up with a sea of clothes but still not having anything to wear.

The utility trend is simply a trend that was inspired by the regular Khaki uniform and its many pockets. We will see this trend in shirts, skirts, trousers and even dresses. The many pockets are going to be all over the place and the other cool part of it is how gender-fluid this style is. So many designer houses like LaQuann, Rick Owens and many others, have gone all in with the sheer trend. As exposé as it may seem, it can be dressed to the taste of its wearer. It can be layered or can even be worn with a skin-coloured undergarment or just with a bralet. I reserve sheer for fun moments like date nights or just a night out with the girls.

We’ll be seeing softer materials paired up with some kind of leather in the same colour shades. Bottega Veneta has taken this trend to another level, there’s a whole collection of leather stripe shirts, jeans, t-shirts and sweaters and tank tops. The creativity poured into these garments is just mesmerizing.

Jason Wu, Alberta Ferreti and David Koma are some of the great designers behind the cobalt blue trend that will be taking over our streets this spring an summer. I have nothing in this colour since I’m a neutralist, but I’m not in hesitant to try this trend at all. I’m thinking of how a blazer in a darker shade of cobalt blue, will marinate perfectly with my neutral pieces.

Gone are the days when sequin was reserved for just the festivities and glamourous occasions. Well, stylish people, sequin has made its way back in a milder and casual way. Dresses are covered in frills and even blouses have gained some ample amount of feathers. I love how playful but classy a little detailing of frill, fringe or feather can elevate an outfit.

In this post, I am sharing with you my 10 best autumnal pieces that I have always seen my self gravitating towards during this time of the year. Most of these pieces are transitional pieces that are curated to make an easy transition from the warmer to the coldest time of the year. They are also simple and basic pieces that can be layered to fit the outstanding temperature no matter how cold it gets. I hate to be cold and so I’m always ahead of the cold winds. I play it safe with turtlenecks. Moreover, turtlenecks are stylish, especially when they are made out of great materials like cashmere, Extra fine Merlino Wool and many other.

STRAIGHT BLAZER WITH FEATHERS

Zara deserves an applause for this gorgeous piece. This colour is far from the neutrals however, we can make do with a change, especially now that the new season is gradually catching up with us. This set has been waiting in the shopping cart for a while now and I’m 150% sure it’s making its way to me. Magenta is the season’s colour and will definitely step into the role of a statement piece. This ensemble will bring forth so many creative outfits that I can’t wait to style.

ATP ATELIER has an array of classic and timeless leather bags. I couldn’t carry on with the styling of this gorgeous number without the intervention of a classy bag in the same colour, as I’m thinking of a monochromatic look. I’m keeping the accessories minimal but the twisted handle of this bag will add an absolute touch of elegance to the outfit.

Waking up early is a primary step in a classy woman’s routine. That way you get more value of time during the day.

I’m not saying one should cover up from head to toe but rather, there should be some sort of balance when it comes to choosing outfits and how they fit on your body.
